As noted by veneff,
OPEN "myFile.txt" for APPEND as #f
close #f
gives syntax error but lowercase append works ok.

Well I'll be darned, it sure does.. I'm surprised this one got through for so long. I tried BINARY and OUTPUT and they all work fine except for APPEND.. Good observation Mike! This one would have drove me nuts...
