In my most recent post about a default font for RB, Jerry set me on the right path to setting div statements to get each of my pages to display the way I intended them. I have, however, run into another stumbling block that I haven't been able to figure out. How do you use a div command with an input statement? The following code generates a time out error after entering your name: call setCSS
[start] div pt print "This is a test." end div print print "Now we'll try an input statement." print div pt input "Please enter your name ";name$ end div print print "Nice to meet you ";name$ end
sub setCSS CSSID #pt, "{font-family:tahoma; font-size:12pt; }" end sub Without the div before the input statement, the text goes back to a default courier new. With the div statement, I get the time out error. I tried using a print statement and separate input in this fashion: div pt print "Please enter your name "; end div input name$ which does display the correct font but moves the question mark and input box down to the next line I am temporarily using a textbox and separate "accept" button but this forces the user to use their tab key to set focus on the button or use their mouse, which is certainly not as neat as simply hitting "Enter". Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug? A future improvement? Or am I simply out of luck Any help would be appreciated. John

A while back I ran into this also. Here is what Jerry said: Thinking.... (hard work).... An INPUT statement stops the flow, and forces a render. I would put the DIV first, then the CLS, as a first RVA (Random Variable Assignment) experiment. I would also leave HEIGHT out of the CSSID statement, just to check. Then I would try using just BACKGROUND instead of BACKGROUND-COLOR, and would next try setting color with "GRAY" instead of the RGB thing. I was using a DIV for background colors. I ended up using HTML to set the background and when I wanted to CSS and input I used a text box and a button (roll your own type). I played with this a bit tonight and still can not find another way around it.

Thanks for the reply Dave. At least I'm not alone on this one
