Printing text to the browser status bar, only tested in MSIE.
statusText$="..... Run BASIC Personal ..... 2007"
html "<script type=""text/javascript""> window.status = """+statusText$+"""; </script>"

It is sufficient to use statusText$="..... Run BASIC Personal ..... 2007"
html "<script> window.status = """+statusText$+""" </script>" Firefox seems to overwrite the status.

IE7 and FF2 both disable the ability to set the statusbar's text. Safari 3 doesn't even have a statusbar. Oh well.

IE7 and FF2 both disable the ability to set the statusbar's text. For IE7 you must change a setting to disable access to the status area by scripts, I just checked and it works fine in IE7.

I just found out, that you can enable access to the status bar in FF2 by checking Change Statusline under Settings => Content => Activate Javascript => Advanced... (hope this is correct translated from German).

It's correct enough to figure it out For those who are picky, or can't figure out synonyms: Tools -> Options -> Content -> Enable Javascript -> Advanced -> Change status bar text
