is there a way to read/write a "cookie like" on the user's computer ? Pascal, currently Cookies are not supported, but Carl mentioned that this could be a feature in a later release.

It seems to me that with RB you have to think slightly differently to 'normal' web programming. To duplicate the effect of cookies (ie remembering the status of a prior user's options) you simply log the information on the server-PC . Assuming that you have a 'sign in' for users (name & password etc), you could use the sign-in information together with 'UserAddress$' (client IP that is connected to your application - which RB passes to your program) and write this to a file on the RB server-PC. The next time the application runs, simply compare the 'UserAddress' to see if it is an existing user returning. I have not done this yet myself (will do soon) - but my idea was to use the 'UserAddress$' to create the filename and save it to C:\rbp folder. The content of the file will contain the name/password and other information for all users that connect with that specific client-IP. I think this is a great way of remembering/restoring user information - especially as some people disable 'cookies' in the browser.

is there a way to read/write a "cookie like" on the user's computer ? Frankly, the way Run BASIC handles server/client data, in a session state, is a lot nicer than cookies. My ToDo list handles a user login, and, for my money, storing the username$ as a variable and relying on the Run BASIC session is a lot easier than fiddling with cookies. That's mu $0.02 anyway...not worth much with the dollar like it is, though.
