To preserve indentation in posted code, try using the PRE and /PRE tags for your posted code: [start] cls html "<h2>Input Demo</h2>" input "Type something and hit ENTER"; stuff$ if stuff$ = "quit" then goto [quit] end if goto [start]
[quit] cls end
instead of the CODE and tag: [start] cls html "<h2>Input Demo</h2>" input "Type something and hit ENTER"; stuff$ if stuff$ = "quit" then goto [quit] end if goto [start]
[quit] cls end
PRE seems to preserve square brackets and angle brackets as well as CODE does.

I didn't know there were PRE tags. I don't see a button for them.
Is there any way you can put PRE stuff in a box, the way CODE stuff is in a box? In the global headers, maybe? You've tweaked the LB forum for stuff like this.
(Maybe proboards support forum has hacks for stuff like this... haven't looked yet.)
Thanks for sharing this. It works in my browser.

My output from a copy and paste (IE7)
[start] cls html "<h2>Input Demo</h2>" input "Type something and hit ENTER"; stuff$ if stuff$ = "quit" then goto [quit] end if goto [start][quit] cls end
Is there a way to preserve CR/LF's within the PRE tags?

Everything's working fine in Safari 3... Thanks for the tip, Jerry. Alyce, try adding this CSS to the global header: pre { padding: 2px; border: solid 2px #000000; }

The button for PRE is between the marquee and the left align buttons, as it was there since ever.
Usually code tags include the pre tags, this was corrected at conforums a while back, so we should contact proboards instead of hacking the board.

You can fix the damage IE does to PRE-formatted text by first pasting into Wordpad, selecting all, and recopying it. Other word processors might work, but not Notepad. You can put a box around a PRE by using a single-cell table. [table][tr][td][pre]Whatever[/pre][/td][/tr][/table]
