Hello all,
I have been working on a web os system for Run Basic and have gotten quite far with my code and implementation.
The current Web OS System includes: window manager application manager desktop icons Settings Applications User Manager and creation tool Video player Media (video, music) repository and manager Home security and automation tools and APIs Client installable on computers for media server control. App Studio Syntax highlighting code editor and WYSIWYG form editor for RB all rolled in to one application. An api framework including a Word like text area widget and other advanced functions security enabled file browser and open function for use in the virtual file system Many other features, too many to list here.
If any one is interested in helping with development please reply to this thread. I want to get a server running on another machine and prepare a distributable package for the whole os framework and associated public files, css files and source code modules.
Any help would be appreciated.

You are welcome to help.
I have this thing set up as a multiuser system and can support more than one user at a time developing different applications.
I have a pretty nifty api for interfacing with the web os feature and a run basic IDE that is built specifically for hooking in to the web os.
The ide has a pre-processor that implements the ability to insert gui chunks in to you code ad a wyswyg html and form editor.
If you want a copy of the whole system I can get you set up.
I would like to make a system for packaging applications and sharing them like a more traditional linux based os so that people can commit there applications to the repository.

This looks like an impressive project.
I would like to help out with the development. Setting up a development server is no problem - I have lots of (virtual) machines available...

Sounds like great fun. When can we get started. Would you like to do a quick run down tonight and the current status and get a package together for you? I think it would work best if we were able to conference with some thing to share my screen out to kind of go over some of the basic architecture and where things are. And here they need to be. Come up with some standards and conventions for what we will be doing and expanding the api and other useful features. Any one up for it? quickscreenshare.com/share?t=wG3GkPGUYGwGsPYws&n=mmiscool&s=0 to see my screen if you are still on here. I will on here for another 30 minuets before I have to go home and then I will be available till 11

Ok, I'll try the conference when I get home. Timezone differences might be a problem though - I'm in GMT+10 (actually +11 at the moment thanks to daylight savings). I guess you are on the west coast of the US?
