I am really a newbie.
The last programing I did was 25 years ago. at that time I really liked programing in basic, at that time it was on the old apple and trash 80 machines. I was fairly good in both versions.
I recently thought I would like to pick it up again. OI have a very long learning curve on this. Is there anyone who could guide me to any info on the differences/conversions from applesoft basic to runbasic?

Applesoft was similar to, but slightly different from, QBasic (which I think is what TRS-80 used). IBM, Commodore, and TRS-80 were much more similar than Applesoft. So, if you could easily jump between these two dialects, you should have little trouble with learning Run BASIC. It's just another dialect. Simple PRINT, CLS, other output statements; For Next, Go To, and other loops; as well as math and variable assignments should be fairly straightforward. Graphics are very different, but in many ways, a lot easier than Applesoft graphics. The ability to load and display pictures rather than filling in a pixel at a time makes programming a lot more fun. In addition to the help file, you'll find Wiki Building Blocks to be a very valuable resource. Explore these resources, take advantage of the small snippets to see how the code works, and don't be afraid to visit here often for help and encouragement. Janet

Run BASIC isn't too much different in the core. PRINT INPUT IF THEN GOTO READ, DATA FOR, NEXT It's all there. Have you downloaded the software and tried it out? Check out the help file for a tutorial. -Carl

GWbasic is what I was used to on both atari and TRS machines. Then started to upgrade with qbasic but didn't do much with it. What you need to do first is to familiarize yourself with "Liberty Basic" and find out what all new fun things Carl has tossed in to this version. Then graduate to "Run Basic".
You will fnd that both have been modernized with the web programmer in mind. All kinds of new commands that old BASIC never dreamed of having. Have fun.
