Ok so I have uploaded the files onto the server. Ran RB today via the command prompt and reset the absolute path to the files. Still I get nothing to function on a browser.
Trying to access an application using seaside/go/runbasicperonal?app=hangman draws a blank page. "Problem loading page".
Why doesn't it work?
If I access Run Basic via the command prompt, it works fine. So why will RB do nothing when trying to access it via a browser from my laptop?

Have you forwarded port 8008, or 80, depending on your RB settings, to your servers IP address? If that is done, the address would be: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8008/seaside/go/runbasicpersonal?app=hangman (or xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80...) with your servers IP address in place of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx John "Psycho" Siejkowski

I'm assuming from your comment of multiple computers that you have a router so several computers can access the internet at the same time. You would need to log into your router then forward the appropriate port (8008 or 80) to the IP address of the machine that is hosting Run BASIC. The router will usually have a tab labeled Forwarding or Games where you enter those settings. The thread right above this should help you understand the forwarding part. runbasic.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=server&action=display&thread=118John "Psycho" Siejkowski

No router. I have installed RB on my actual server. That is in St Louis Mo and I am in Florida.

So you can access the RB server in St Louis Mo from a computer in Florida via the command line, but not using a brouser. Interesting.

Your server is provided to you as a service, right? Contact your service provider and make sure that port 8008 is open to you. Or, if they already opened port 80 (the standard for web serving) then just switch to port 80 in the Run BASIC preferences tab. Once you've got that out of the way you should be able to access Run BASIC from your laptop (or the local library, or whereever) like so: www.yourdomainname.com:8008Or as John said if you want to run a particular app (make sure it is checked on the publish tab): www.yourdomainname.com:8008/seaside/go/runbasicpersonal?app=hangmanIt's also possible that you need to go to the control panel on the server box and open the Windows firewall icon up and add the port to the exceptions tab. -Carl

That's what I was wondering Carl. That because I haven't published the project onto this server yet things aren't working right. I'll try that out today and see what happens.

Did you ever publish the projects? No, not yet. Check the other threads he is posting in, like "still ain't workin" on this board. He asked to host his applications on runbasicnet too, which would be doable as your home page shows. I would still talk to the service provider he is using, since they know what kind of applications are installed and running on their machines.

The reason I asked was to see if Rich could access his applications posted on his own computer (not the server) from another computer. I was following the other thread and noticed several unanswered questions, so I came back here to see if he was ever able to publish and access from his home computer.

The reason I asked was to see if Rich could access his applications posted on his own computer (not the server) from another computer. I think he mentioned things work fine at home, but I doubt he has a private network. I have not checked the server service provider link he offered, but talking to the service provider is the first I would do in this case.
