I've been playing around with Liberty Basic for a few years. Last time I used it was back in high school. Lately I've been wanting to pursue a degree in computer science, and I started revisiting stuff I haven't used in awhile. I went to the Liberty Basic website, did a few searches, and then I discovered Run BASIC.
Even though I've been introduced to programming, I'm still totally a beginner. I read Run BASIC in detail, I visited the site, watched the videos, etc. But I'm still a little confused. What does it mean that Run Basic has a sever? That's kind of tripping me up. I looked up Web Sever, but that didn't seem to help me understanding.
Let me see if I got this. When I buy Run BASIC I'm buying the ability to make web applications. From my understanding there's nothing to download. You login, and write code directly in your browser. OK... so far I think I'm following. But what happens when I create my programs and I want to put it on my website, or make a website that uses app. But what kind of stuff can it do?
For instance, what about a forum site like the one we are on here? Could Run BASIC be used to implement something like that? And I don't see how to plug it into a website. I'm definitely missing some kind of Run Basic understanding.... no pun intended.

So, this means that your computer becomes a web server. You can then access this web server from the machine it is installed on and from any computer that shares the same local network (LAN) as that machine. At this point you can create applications that are used on a local network. This is great for homes, schools, and businesses. Then, if you want, you can register a domain on the internet and point it at your computer. There are few ways to do this. Once you do this, you can then share your applications with people on the internet. For more information about this see the forum section here runbasic.proboards82.com/index.c.cgi?board=server-Carl
