How do I make this happen:
() I've got a dedicated windows 2003 server with a static IP address () I've got RunBASIC installed on the server and it works fine
Problem: If I type the static ip address of the machine into a client's web browser, I'd like index.htm to appear - not the USERNAME & PASSWORD dialog
Question: Is there a way to make the USERNAME/PASSWORD dialog appear only when I type 10.11.12.13/cpanel and set RunBASIC to dish out index.htm if the URL is hit without a page specified?
This would allow me to dump IIS altogether and it would also greatly simplify administration.

Do you have a Published app that would dish out index.html when RB is accessed?

Figured out how to do this. Set up a published app called "index" or whatever you want to call it. It has one line of code in it: EXPIRE "index.htm" and END
This causes the index.htm to pull up when the domain is hit. Not sure what effect it will have on search engine optimization. I went ahead and continued with IIS with RB behind it until I finish thinking the entire problem out.

One good solution would be to allow the user to type an arbitrary filename to serve instead of an app name in the Preferences tab. So, if you put index.html in there that's what you get by default. I'm not sure how to make the http server do that, but I'll look into it. -Carl
