HELP... I'm having a mental block! An application uses locally stored picture files (jpg). The pics show up when running the app from the IDE; using a URL like http://localhost:8008/resources/myPic.jpg finds the pics ok. With the app published the pictures are not found when accessing the app via the internet. Please, how do I use local resources for a published app? TIA Mike.

Do you use URL format for accessing the images, or local format? e.g. In your code, do you access the image as mysite.com:8008/resources/myPic.jpg or C:\rbp\resources\myPic.jpg? You have to use URL format, or at least have it /resources/myPic.jpg.

It all seems to work okay here. Try this:
print "testing" html "<img src=""/resources/calcbanner.png"">"

Chris, yes I'm using url format as shown in my post, but: Carl said:
I was expecting RB would find local files from localhost:8008 but apparently not. There may not be a problem Carl, as before, my router setup does not let me go out to the internet and back in so I will get a friend to test for me using mydomain.com:8008 in the URL.
What about another computer on the same network? Addressing the server as localhost:8008 has the same problem. The application runs but local files can not be accessed without going out to the internet. Is there a possible way overcome this.
Thanks,
Mike.

Try to access from another computer using localhost is only going to try and find a web server on the same machine as the web browser. Instead try using the local network IP address of the server like so: 192.168.123.234:8008/resources/myfile.extOr else replace your router with one that isn't so restrictive? -Carl

Sorry, my mistake, that was the method I was trying from a networked computer, not localhost:8008, The RB application runs but the local resource files can't be found. EDIT: They can when the RB code has been saved - I've got it now. Time for a break! Mike.
