I know I can display a picture from a url site (such as a pic that's been uploaded to the Run BASIC Wiki Site). Is it also possible to read and display a text file that's been uploaded, or do you have to resort to the user's interaction with the UPLOAD command?

Use HTTPGET$() to fill a variable with the contents of the file.

a$ = HttpGet$("http://runbasic.wikispaces.com/space/showimage/USFDAMedSafety.txt") Print a$ End
Got it, Stefan. Thanks.

I'd still like to use UPLOAD for RB Personal. For instance, to use the file browser to find a data file on the user's disk to process. It works from a remote server, but not from RG on my computer. How about a function to grab the info out of the text box when you have selected a file from the browser during UPLOAD, but before you click on the UPLOAD button, so you could just OPEN the file directly without going through the UPLOAD processor? Or do I have to craft a browser from the FILES command?
Maybe a switch for UPLOAD, like "Am I running RBP on the same computer as the selected file? If yes, then open and read the selected file. If no, then upload file and process from server-saved copy."

Hmm... whoops. Never mind. UPLOAD just worked fine, here. I've got a super-slow Win XP box that constantly wants to upgrade apps and data files via super-slow 19.2kbaud landline. Sometimes I interpret the delays in program-testing to endless loops or I/O failure when it's really just XP doing its Bill Gates thing. Can't wait for RB Personal to run on Linux or Max....

It already does; it works perfectly through WINE. Unless you meant natively EDIT: Wait, you already know that, you saw my topic XP
