Is there any way to create thumbnails. I was hunting for a way to read a photo and reduce the size and place it back on disk. For example if I have a photo that is say 400h x 400w, and want to reduct to say 100h x 100w. Is there any way to load the graphic into #g, then create a graphic #g1, 100,100 then move every 4th pixel from #g to #g1. If there was a command then Something like this
for x = 1 to 400 step 4 for y = 1 to 400 step 4 x1 = (x + 4) / 4 y1 = (y + 4) / 4 #g1(x1,y1) = #g(x,y) next y next x
Then somehow write the thumbnail to disk.
I hope this is somewhat clear. I this possible?? Anyone know how to do this???
Thanks for the help...

Hello, I think what exactly you want is not possible at this time. It may be possible to use an external program to create the thumbnails. This requires a program that can be controlled from a command line. Two possibilities are Batch Image Processor and IrfanView. I don't know if these pop up windows when run. If so, that may be a consideration if you want to use your computer as a client and a server. HTH

Actually, I think imagemagick would be a way better choice for creating thumbnails or converting/modifying images. Check out www.imagemagick.org There is also a windows version and running it by commandline is no problem. Anyway, it would be more then great if Carl could implement some basic image modifying capabilities to run basic!
