I'm trying to use open a text file, i have place my text file int he public/resources folder, but RB says it can't find it. any idea what i'm doing wrong? I'll keep working on it thanks.

ok, i figured out that I have to be more direct on my file locations. can some give a list of the default locations RB looks for each certain types of files?

Unless you want your data files to be serve-able on the network, you shouldn't put them under the public folder. Make your own folder in rbp. Here's code to open a text file in c:\rbp\myfolder\ assuming that Run BASIC is installed in c:\rbp\. open "myfolder\testing.txt" for input as #1 print input$(#1, lof(#1)) close #1 -Carl
