Just the kind of thing I'm into- excellent. At present I do this via PHP and the RunBASIC way is much neater. . The possibilities seem endless. With much less hassle.

re repeated access to the HDD- it looks like an excellent change to use a RAM Disk, which is easy in Linux & Windows. It's only used to pass the data in a tiny file after all...

I am unpressed with the camera. Not sure though if i was working Thar led. Perhaps a text feedback/condemnation would be useful. "LED\ed now on' 'led now off'. like it~

In my previous (and first) post, please read umpressed as impressed. I have a problem in that i can't see out of one eye and blind in the other. I blame my bifocals when that happens Welcome to the forum. I did have the camera streaming from another computer and it was more real time then. I changed it to display a new image every 60 seconds because the stream would lock up ( no fault of RB). Now it takes an image cycle or two to see the LED turn on or off. Not the best for a demo but it should get the point across. The text feed back is a good idea but... Then I could cheat and not have the LED

Velleman K8055 remote control, with webcam feedback will be active Sunday (in UK) 1000 - 1800 GMT (at least). karemi.hopto.org and click the 'Velleman IO Test' link. I assume chaos rules if more than one user accesses it at the same time. ;D Project utilises LB4 and RB, code can be put on wiki if anyone wants it.

Nice looking site Mike!
The cool thing about this way of doing remote control is it is the most stable way I have found to achieve it. I have used many other ways over the years and they have all had problems. The RB way has not failed yet.
BTW. My setup has the RB and LB running on Ubuntu 7.10.

"I've seen the LED!" I now see it work on your web site and notice that it updates the display without me causing an event. How do you do that?
I have simple code that I want to display a line every second or so. But it waits until it is all composed then sends it all at once.
How do I regain control after printing a line?
Thanks, BillyJoe
////// code //////
cls print "start control test "
big = 10 little = 500000
for nn = 1 to big
print time$()
rem use up some time for n = 1 to little XX = 3.2 * 3.73 / 143.7 next n
next nn
print "done"
end

Not sure what exactly you are trying to achieve but I can help with 'using up some time'
'2 second delay dly=2000 tNow=time$("ms") tLater=tNow+dly while time$("ms")<tLater wend
If as I suspect, you wish to update a users webpage every few seconds, then I think you need to arrange a 'n' second refresh in the webpage html. <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5" "URL=http://www......"> where content value is in seconds.
There is also 'Web Push' technology about which I know less than nothing, other than its name.

billyjoe385, I think Mike's code is what you are after. I am just having the whole page reload every 30 seconds. If there is a new picture on the server it will be displayed just like it would if you refreshed the page manually. Like Mike guessed, I am using a meta tag. This can also be used to redirect a user after a certain amount of time. RB version to reload the current page. html "<meta http-equiv=""Refresh"" content=""30"">"
Normal way to redirect. Notice the " difference. <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="10;url=http://www.123.com">
