Run BASIC is a very cool way to create web programs and unique in its own way. The trouble is getting people to understand what it is.
I would be grateful for some elevator pitches about Run BASIC. How would you say in one or two sentences (or three) what Run BASIC is and why you should use it?
Thanks,
-Carl

"create web programs" This phrase should be used sparingly, it is confusing programmers. Use "script web content" instead.
"Ever wanted to express yourself? Ever paused in awe at stunning web pages? Well pretty soon you could be just as creative. Bannish the black art of HTTP scripting, decloak the myths of web development and start creating.
Run BASIC provides a complete alternative to the complex development languages that have evolved to script web content. Run BASIC wrests control back to you, allowing BASIC language scripting of web content.
Create web pages in an easy to use project development environment and publish on the web at the click of a mouse.
The project development environment is similar to Liberty BASIC's IDE, the BASIC code is also very similar but based on the developmental Liberty BASIC v5.0, i.e. smarter and faster!
Once published, no one will know but you, that the web content they are looking at was created by you with Run BASIC, they will simply browse, interact and and enjoy. "

I could tell you, but then I'd be giving away the cover blurbs and advertising teasers for my book and courseware series....

RunBasic pitch for old timers (like me):
If you've ever used one of the classic BASIC interpreters, then you already know most of what you need to build dynamic websites using RunBasic.

Run BASIC moves desktop programming out onto the internet. The screen displays, forms, interactions, graphics, and data-handling processes you create with clear, understandable BASIC programs suddenly become web applications, usable by anyone, on any platform -- Windows, Mac, Linux -- on any computer with browser access to the internet. With Run BASIC, you can write your program from anywhere, on any computer, and run it everywhere, on every computer.
(That's three sentences. I could get it down to one, or two, but writing less takes more time....)

Had a long and happy time in financial services, credit cards in the main. Retired now, hoping to supplement my meager pension by developing web content.

Bill W. wrote this one-liner yesterday on the Liberty Basic forum:
This pitch would apply only to people who already know something about Liberty Basic.

The way I've been explaining RB to my friends, who aren't really programmers but do play with websites, is that it's basically web programming for human beings. Things that are very complex using conventional methods are easy to understand with RB. Not to mention, it's just plain fun. Quite a few of them are interested now.

I have very much to catch up with at this point, but I am pleased to participate in the beta. Thank you very kindly, Carl!. Here's another: Run BASIC: The ability to build serious web applications, on your own terms, using a BASIC language that you already know and trust! -David-

Bit late to the party, but here is my 2 pence worth... "Run BASIC is the first language designed for the web! No fudges, templates or half baked solutions. No add-ons, plug-ins or toolkits. No config, incantations or Voodoo. Just BASICally program and RUN! Creative content programming for everyone." ps I've not actually got the beta yet, so please be kind if I've goofed in the above pitch.

"Run BASIC is beyond web pages and web services, it's about web applications. It does for the browser what QBasic did for the DOS prompt."
