Well, I've tried downloading and installing the Mac OS X version of the free trial, without success. The files come down, a folder and desktop icon are installed. I get a message asking if I'm ok with something downloaded from the internet. A Visual something-or-other icon shows up in the dock. That same Visual something-or-other also shows in the "Force Quit" box - which, BTW, seems to be the only way to stop it. I clicked on the runbasic.app in the folder.
Nothing I try will start up Run Basic. No IDE. No Web page. Nothing, except the icon in the dock.
Also, I can't find installation instructions for OS X anywhere.
I installed the Mac OSX components shown as required.
So, it's browser-based, but what URL do I put in - is that the issue?
Does this actually work? If so, how?

Hi oharamj
I had some trouble initially with getting the Linux version to work and finally discovered I needed to set the correct permissions OS X has the same Unix base so maybe you have the same problem.
Also from the FAQ:
Installation was successful, but Run BASIC does not start?
Make sure your firewall is not silently blocking rbp.exe. Make sure to exclude rbp.exe from being blocked. If rbp.exe is no more blocked, the Run BASIC console will be displayed, use Launch in Browser to start developing your web applications.
best of luck

I dunno ... I'm running as admin permissions. And, aren't .exe files for Windows? See attached .jpg - I've been able to start a sort of Run Basic screen from the built-in Seaside app by going to the following URL in my Safari and Chrome browsers: http://localhost:8008/seaside/go/runbasicpersonal Notice the missing icons art. By hovering over each I can see their intent: - Create New Project File - Open Project File - Save Project File - Save Project As - Refresh Editor from Disk File - Run None of these basically work. They each cough up a hairball that says "No such file or directory" followed by tons of crap from the stack. It shouldn't be this hard. Attachments:
