Just in case I missed it: how will we purchase RunBASIC? Will we go through the LibertyBASIC site or RunBASIC.com?

Just in case I missed it: how will we purchase RunBASIC? Will we go through the LibertyBASIC site or RunBASIC.com? You will purchase it at www.runbasic.com and we will also have bundling options so if someone buys LB they can add RB at a discount, and vice versa. -Carl

Carl
Happy New Year
Saw a Happy Thanksgiving someplace, and thought why not the new year, since your launching a new product.
Looks like most recent posts here vs the LB site, wiki must be quite in.
You have a youtube on css at wiki, wondered if you can embed same with the site graphic as well into an RB ps?
Seems you had a lot of Beta testers, but was surprised not too many listed their rb sites, only 1 I found was Mike's, was anxious to get some visuals of what all people had come up with.

John Andrew (turbov21) had several programs served on his site. He has one left: kerovia.net:8008/seaside/go/runbasicpersonal?app=FlickrFeedI don't have internet apps. I use it for personal apps and on my home network. Many of us use it that way.

johnk1, as soon as I can wrap up some Pay-For-Work projects this weekend and buy RBP, I'll fix up some of my old apps and get them in decent order. Until then, suffice to say, pretty much anything you can do in PHP, you can do in RBP: guest books, Flickr mashups, blogs, etc. Here it is: kerovia.net:8008/

Thanks both of you Alyce & Turbov:
Neat terms here Karma, Exalt, Smite like from rpg or something.
Alyce ok didn't think many, but some might use that way, by home network, do you mean in the house type, where kids have their own and all shared thru a control proxy or something like that? Thanks for site info.
Turbov That sounds fantastic, looking forward to it. On the rest, that's awesome, think I'm going to love it. I'll get back to you on it all. Thanks.

If bothered by term proxy, used to be one (maybe still is) called gateway proxy or maybe that was Wingate for Home networking. Those who wanted to run several pc's (like their kids) in their home (master/slave) under a main one, controling, and todays seperate wireless options guess a lot use.

I think Alyce meant your typical home network. There is no control or proxy PC, but all the PCs are equal peers on the network. Communication from PC to PC and to the Internet is commonly managed by a router (wirelessly or not) or hub, not a PC. So let's say everyone in your family has their own computer. You could easily create a program in Run BASIC to keep everyone up to date with each other (a bulletin board or calendar). Track days off, parties, scholastic sports, vacations, wish lists, photos... whatever. A custom in-house social network. Furthermore if the RB server were served on the Internet then kids in college could also access the app. -Carl

No. Wingate was indeed called a proxy and was for the Home Networking of pc's. A lot of people who had satellite pc a few years back were using it. Used to have to help configure it for their networks back then.
Will check back between 4-6pm to see if RB or further comments regarding it's eminence of release posted then.

Using SQLite I created my own message board-type script. It's a work in progress, but the RowIndex var that Carl added at my request made it a lot easier to manage.

Uuuh? Last comment by Carl on getting a copy funny **** Your right on all you say(Carl), but they still sell it, and have customers, Control Internet Access thru a single (master) pc of a home or biz network: Simular to in a paragraph found here. www.wingate.com/product-wingate.phpYou worry too much about terms, our IT liked to refer to it as Master/Slave concept in terms of having control. That terminology got the concept acrossed to the customer fast, as most wanted to have a main control over their kids pc's within the home network. Didn't mean for this to become a distraction, guess I need to be super specific on what I say in a post, versus making generalities of things. My plan change try to get back by 8pm. Best John

Ok now that finally got to try rb out, am even more impressed Great product and job, know you'll be adding more neat object in bells and whistles, but shoot even with it just as it is: That's *one very cool and special Web Page designer* in the way I'll use it initially. Run basics capabilities in, within various language, file and style formats, and IDE in a can (convienent browser platform) is so awesome. Thanks John
