How about a word from Carl for this year.... I want to know what are his plans for RB and timelines.
I am activley making a proof of concept app for a financial company and before I keep pushing RB instead of Java/PHP/etc... I want to know what Carl has in mind.
That is why I have been asking for Sockets... (righ now I am getting by shell$()'ing the network part of it.. not nice) and fixing the 0.0d issue would be nice...

Looks like others are finally starting to notice that something is strange here. I almost think Carl want's this to dye. He probably talked to a lawyer and was told not to acknowledge, say, or do anything. That way legally he would be safe. I doubt he could legally say he is doing nothing.

The idea is that this is very inexpensive marketing that I will use to drive traffic to the Run BASIC site and to this forum. -Carl

seems abit of a bitter / wierd post from rhmercer? but being fair I guess things have been quiet for a while about a new version / update to the current 1.01 version.
there are various things I'd like to see for a new version.... such as built in SSL certificate, so data to / from RB server is encrypted... I know it can still behind apache and IIS but I dont use apache. We use IIS at work so would consider that but have never found how to make it work correctly... If someone has a step by step procedure I'd really appreicate it...
I dont like the idea of logins/password and personal data being transmitted over the internet hence why people use SSL certificates. This surely is a must have nowadays with internet data being sniffed as it passes routers etc,etc
also I'd like RB to have ability to host several IP Addresses and each IP could point to a different project / application on start up like IIS server. Ideal if you want to run multiple website apps for deferent clients.... just thinking of the future there.....
I really would like to see the end of 'seaside/go/runbasicpersonal' in the html line and it be reduced to http://webserver/ but still with the ?app=helpdesk ability to run different apps from a html link.
if carl's new iphone version brings him more revenue hopefully that will help him to continue and develop the standard version I've been using since 2009. I have several apps which is in daily use that I developed and as such would like to see RB continue and progress.
As I said earlier though I would pay for a version which has in built SSL certificate support... its essential!!

There is a way around this for now which you could try, although not pratical it works.
Whether you create a entire webpage for a client or a small application, you can create a normal html file and have a frame/iframe to load the website/application using css to hide the border. Obviously this html file will be hosted on a different webserver.

It lets you do this sort of thing. Next week I'll be focusing on getting a test version of RB2 together for people to try. -Carl
