Yes, it is hard to do everything yourself. Lack of time. Good news that RB is not abandoned

Thanks for the answer. Your page is nice, and generaly works fine. But some of the subpages seems to be inactive.

So maybe RunBASIC is simply abandoned project? No, it is not abandoned. Carl is currently focusing on LB5, which uses the same code base as RB. As a one-man-band he can't clone himself, so please be patient. Here we are in 2021 now... still "being patient" - Any updates or word as to what's going on with RB? Uses for it keep popping into my head but really apprehensive about utilizing it anymore. I do see there's activity happening in the LB5 world, just would be nice to hear something from Carl either way about RB.

Consider this. When is a language deadI wonder how many people are developing new systems in RB?? Personally - I moved on.. I am big fan of JB LB and RB but from from the user perception RB threw cold water on my excitement( on users like me I guess). I will start a new thread on this so that Carl will consider the problems or expectations in his next release of RB. * When I say users like me I mean the users who are good at JB/LB with some knowledge of HTML and CSS not experts in computer science but like to make dynamic websites on their own to expose their knowledge in other domains as a hobby or to make their living.

I'm one that was making a living.
I also liked RB. Years ago I was developing a moderate system in PHP when RB first came out. I read and liked what it could do and loved it. Especially the fact that it remembered variables during web sessions. So I moved the app to RB. We had problems, but Carl stated that he would fix them. Also because of speed, Carl stated he would develop a compiler. None of this ever happened. The major problems for me was the memory leak and SQLite lockup. The system wasn't all that big. It was about 100 programs with a database of about 80 tables and only about 6 million records. Lucky the user base was small with only about 1200 users. It was a $300,000 contract with about $1200 a month rental. I wish I could mention the company and you would recognize it as a huge company. I lost the contract because of the memory leaks and SQLite lockups. I had faith in Carl's word to fix the problems and continued to write in RB knowing the problems would be fixed.. So - Excuse me - if I'm a little angry. When was the last update to RB. Those critical errors have never been fixed. I rewrote the system in another BASIC language. Everything worked including the HTML and SQLite interface. It compiles and is fast.
