Just put together a little script, that returns the country, country code and country flag depending on from where you connect to the script. Probably best to use if you want to present stuff related to the country of the client. This script does not relay on any external ip2country webservices, so it is pretty fast and reliable.... nor does it perform any timeconsumpting DNS lookups. The DB is a bit outdated, as I used it for testing only.. but should still be accurate in about 99,99% of all requests. But I'm writing an easy to use DB converter right now to allow automatically updating the DB over the internet. Unfortunately the forum here only supports 1MB attachments.... but the country DB is pretty huge as it has to cover about 6 billion IP addresses (about 2MB compressed). So I've uploaded it to some public filehosters.... www.mediafire.com/?xotzwmhmweuwww.megaupload.com/?d=GLMURHO8rapidshare.com/files/319911289/ip2country_project.zipInstallation: Just extract the zip file with it's folder structure to your RunBasic Projects folder and publish it. Then open it like www.myRBserver.com:8008/seaside/go/runbasicpersonal?app=ip2countryand it should instantly show from what country you are connecting, the flag and country code. Hope it's of some use....
