Hey Carl - When there're updates for Run Basic being released, will there be charges for them, or will they be free? Or to rephrase: Will there be a charge for a major update, such as V1.00 to V2.00? But say, no charge for an update such as V1.00 to V1.20? Having read a larger thread from Microchip with announcements of other additions, I've stepped back mildly for the moment as whether to purchase right away, or to wait a little while. At the same time - my curiosities as TO RB are ginourmous! (With hopes of creating a web based version of my Numerology software that I'm currently writing as an EXE type.) Thanks for answers in any way, related to the original questions. Take care, Warmth and Peace, Rych www.molindarius.com/numerologywww.rykhaard.com/www.damian.deathlehem.com/

Usually Carl offers a reduced upgrade fee for major version upgrades, but bug fix releases are free. There is no lifetime free upgrade as far as I know.

It's been six yeas since that was posted.
I'll happily page again, double even, for a polished, updated and expanded RB200.

Hi Carl
I caught up with the recent Youtube community chat and you mentioned that you are hoping to get version 2 of Run Basic out in the near future.
I'm thinking of purchasing Run Basic but should I wait for v2.0 before doing so, or will there be a free upgrade for those who have purchased v1.0?
Best wishes,
richey

Hi Richey,
Upgrades to version 2 will not be free, but they will not be expensive either.

Carl!!!!
Please. Just release it already!
Serious though. RB has been a wonderful tool and a great past time. I've developed an app that my whole department uses and is a real time saver. It's better that any of the canned IT resources we were forced to use. We used to have a whole department languishing using excel spread sheets for keeping material pricing up-to-date. Now its all online with a web interface. One single point of current data, covering some 300,000 parts and item numbers. No more shuffling excel sheets, no more outdated sheets floating around. Productivity is up nearly 40%.
It was easily setup with RB. If you were to ask double the pricer for version 2.... I'd pay it.
