You guys should be able to make your own IP address servers by returning the below environmental variable sent in the http request.
REMOTE_ADDR

I use the below batch file with Apache just for testing and such. Not sure if something similar could be done with runbasic. You will need to copy/paste the url in a brouser to see the output as the : seems to cause problems in posted links. zoomkat.d2g.com:88/cgi-bin/your-ip.bat @Echo OFF Echo Content-type: text/html Echo. echo %REMOTE_ADDR% is your IP address

My current status Bought WWW.no-ip.com services. This appears to solve my dynamic IP. I have a domain name www.xurfworld.hopto.org. I've logged on to no-ip and they can see my localhost name(i.e Run Basic Apps). Bought software from www.portforward.com. This seemingly port forwards my Port 80. Still can't see myself on the World Wide Web. Something I'm missing perhaps. To re-iterate. My aim is to use Run Basic and my PC as a server. So I am looking at allowing my Domain(www.something.com) to see my localhost ?app name. Many thanks for your patience. Cheers

zurfworld said 1) Have you tried from another PC 'outside' your setup? eg a friends PC. It is often impossible to set up a connection from the PC running RunBASIC, out to the internet and back again to the same PC. I see that problem and have to use an anonymous proxy for testing. 2) Do you have a homepage set up? If so you should see that from your no-ip url without specifying any application. 3) Are you sure your domain name is correct? (www.xurfworld.hopto.org/). On the basis of my no-ip account, maybe the url should be xurfworld.hopto.org (no www). 4) Last suggestion, change server port and port-forwarding to 8008 or similar, as some ISPs block port 80 inbound traffic. I found that with no-ip, there is no need to quote the port number in the url. After that, I'm out of ideas HTH Mike

Hi
I'm having problems with regards to hosting my own web site using Run Basic. Is Runbasicnet my answer. The simple solution I am after is :
I've written a Run Basic App. I want it on the world wide web.
How do I do it.
And I want it cheap.
Run Basic is definitely the tool I want to use.

zurfworld, did you read the previous reply to you, was any of it applicable?
RBPS and no-ip worked for me, although for various reasons I do not have an on-line site at the moment. There are at least two other sites still on-line with RBPS, others have migrated to Runbasicnet.
Mike.
