Preferred format for distributing programs

I've been playing around with installers and InnoSetup ( www.innosetup.com/isinfo.php) seems to be the best of the freeware ones. InstallJammer (http://www.installjammer.com/) is a very similar project that is cross-platform (windows/linux/unix, mac osx in the future), but the setup files are much larger than those created by InnoSetup.

Good idea about putting stuff on Freshmeat!
