Runbasicnet.com, remember, is a pilot project, the first of its kind. That means that, from time to time, something unexpected might happen. We call those somethings "performance issues".
If you run into a performance issue, please report it immediately. Email to my gmail.com account is a good way, but I think reporting it here, on the forum, is best. That way, it might trigger someone else's memory -- "Oh yeah! That happened to me, too, once. Here's what I was doing at the time...." Now we have some data to work with, and can push toward a solution.
Please describe the issue as best you can, tell what you were doing at the time, what happened, and most importantly exactly when it happened (and give GMT time or tell us your local time zone designation). The system logs accesses, errors, and interruptions, so we try to match performance issue reports with possible log entries to chase down problems.
Some issues reported to me have been:
server down
interrupted connection
slow access
links suddenly showing "no internet connection" error message
Some of these are problems at the client (browser) end -- we have to know about those so we can come up with fixes or workarounds. The server-end issues we have to catalog and document so the server configuration can be adjusted or upgraded. In either event, please understand that, usually, we can only come up with a fix if we can duplicate the problem or track its occurrence through the system logs. So, the more information we get, the better!
Oh, by the way, it would certainly be okay with me to hear about successful operations and applications once in a while, too.
