Just dropped by the board to read the post and was greated with a field requiring that I supply my gender before I can read the post. So what does one's gender have to do with the purpose of this board? Perhaps somebody is looking for an internet date?

Seems to be a ProBoards thing. I got the same query on another ProBoards forum.

I don't know why they ask for that information, but if I remember correctly you can opt out of providing it.

Below is what is in my profile. The screen would not let me see the forum unless I selected a gender. So for their intrusive effort, I supplied them with incorrect data. Probably something in the fine print of the forum use agreement that allows them to do such things.
Gender: Undisclosed
