hello, I'm new to RB, but I'd just like to say that I completed my first small program and it works well. Basically it will be used to track inventory for a small business I work for. Just thought I share. I'm also looking into hosting it on a web server. I can't really do this at home so if anyone knows a good cheap company that will host RB please let me know.

Do you use SQLite in your app? -Carl

Carl,
Yes, using sql for data storage. It's a very basic program that allows the user to add inventory, issue inventory, and result out inventory as well as track which technicians (employees) use what equipment and at which location. It's designed for use for a small Directv satellite contractor. Directv holds all contractors accountable for the equipment they use. Most small contractors have no system of tracking their inventory. So I have made this basic program for the contractor I work for. After more development I may offer it to other contractors. I hope to make it look more professional as I learn about CSS and HTML.

Carl,
I've used SQLlite before as well as the SQL you can use with Access. I've done some programming with PHP and Cold Fusion. I've also worked with DAO,ADO through VB. It's alot more fun using RB to create a web page that can be used as a software program. I tried to create an ActiveX program before, but it gets complicated real quick when you want to distribute it on the Internet. I think this is the next best thing. ;D
