Hello, I'm a newbie at RunBasic.
When I start RunBasic Free and push the button "launch in browser" RunBasic runs in MS Internet Explorer instead of MS Edge.
Is that on purpose or can I change a setting somewhere to have it run in Edge.
Ciao,
Roberto

It should go to whatever browser is set as your default browser..

That's exactly what I thought and think, but reality is somewhat different. I add a screendump to show you our forumdiscussion in MS Edge (my default browser) on the background. When I run Basic Console -> launch in browser then RUNBasic starts up - and in - MS Internet Explorer, even asking me how to configure. By the way, this also happens when I do not use MS Edge at the same time. I rest my case. Thanks anyway.

As I cant rest my case like that, I uninstalled MS Internet Explorer. Then asked RUNBasic to launch in browser, and …….nothing happend. I restarted the computer, re-installed RUNBasic just to be sure and ….. nothing. Tomorrow I will re-install MS Internet Explorer hoping RUNBasic will run again.
Ciao, Rob

Ultimately I installed Firefox and promoted that browser as default, hoping that Meerkat's solution "It should go to whatever browser is set as your default browser.." would work. But it did not. Only with MS Internet Explorer "on board" (= installed) RUNBasic will run.

I waited for a couple of weeks hoping someone would know and tell the solution to my problem. Are all of you - users of runbasic - running runbasic in ms internet explorer 11? Ciao, Roberto

I'm running in windows/7 as a server behind Apache running 365/24/7. RunBasic is running in the bottom tray, so I don't see it. When a user has a problem, I need to test in the browser they use. I have the bookmarks bar visible at the top of the browsers with a bookmark as: "localhost/8008/seaside/go/runbasicpersonal" So clicking on that bookmark opens RunBasic in that browser.
Not sure this will help since I windows/10 computers are running other stuff.

Hi roberto, I'm guessing there is a bug and your best bet is to email Carl directly or if you also use Libertybasic send him a PM on that forum. I had to resort to the PM via LB to get some assistance with running RB on a 64bit Linux OS.
So, my setup for RunBAsic for windows(10) has always been with Firefox as the default browser, reading your post today I decided to change my default browser to Edge, I then double clicked my batch flle that starts RB and clicked on "Launch in Browser" Firefox popped up asking if I wanted to set it as the default browser. I clicked no and RB started in Firefox.
I did confirm Edge was still the default so I then re-booted expecting that may fix the problem. No Firefox still started and I was asked if I would like to set it as the default browser.
I can only assume the first time RB is run the browser that is the initial default gets to be recorded somewhere and RB uses that at each startup. But where that is can only the answered by Carl.
I know how frustrating it can be not getting answers.

I have set Firefox as default and RB launches in Firefox. There have been several reports that the default browser is not used, users always had to reset the default browser to make it work again. Also make sure to restart your computer after you applied the changes, Windows sometimes doesn't change things until a reboot.
