Upload has no method of escape from an empty string. The example taken from the wiki building blocks and modified with an added goto, illustrates this.
upload "Select an image file."; image$ if image$ = "" then goto [quit] loadgraphic #pic, image$ render #pic
[quit] print " We're out!" end

Perhaps RB could have a special variable that holds the location of the upload directory (default upload directory at start of program) but can accept a new assignment. Live long and prosper. \\\-//
