One of the neatest things about Run BASIC is the way we can format the display. Janet and Mike have shared a huge amount of info on CSS styling with Run BASIC. They continue to add to it, too! Check this fantastic CSSID/CSSCLASS tutorial with sample code: Styling with CSSWow. Really. Wow!

Wanted to add... Jerry started the Run BASIC wiki, so many thanks to him for that! It's an invaluable resource. Everybody can join and add content, so don't be shy! You'll need an account a wikispaces, which is really easy to get. Once you have a wikispaces account, simply click the link to join the Run BASIC wiki. Jerry, or one of the other organizers will approve your account right away and you can start adding content. runbasic.wikispaces.com/The wiki allows you to create pages, upload files and images, and modify existing pages. Don't worry about messing up. All of the versions of pages are stored, so if you make a mistake, the page can be reverted to a previous version. It's totally foolproof! If you don't know much about wikis, or about wikispaces, take this brief series of tours: www.wikispaces.com/site/tour#introductionAlso, check the bottom of THIS forum. There's a live RSS feed for the recent updates to the community wiki. See you there! runbasic.wikispaces.com/

Alyce, wiwi link - runbasic.wikispaces.com/Styling+With+CSSIDMaybe the page title would be more indicative as 'Styling With CSS' as it contains various methods ? I couldn't find a way of changing the page title although I was able to edit the link name. Perhaps different permissions are needed. Thanks for all your co-operation (Janet too), Mike.

Janet started the page, so she can decide. The title of the page is, "Styling Your Run BASIC Documents with CSSID and CSSCLASS." The page name/link is "Styling+With+CSSID" It can be changed by an organizer, but one must keep a record of all the pages that link to it, then change the link on all of those pages. (There are quite a few that link to this page, so it would take a few minutes.) I like to give names that are short and contain no spaces. The title of the page can be anything you want, but it's helpful if the pagename/link is short and descriptive. I'd call it something like "StylingWithCSS" I think.

When I started the page, I didn't know about CSSClass. CSSID is defined on that page. CSSClass isn't. We'll need to change that. We should add a link from Styling With CSS to both the CSSID Building Block and the CSSClass Building Block. Renaming the Wiki page is easy. Wikispaces even lists for you all pages with links that will need to be updated. Right now there are 5. I'll rename the page to StylingWithCSS and update the links later this evening.

New Link - same good stuff. . . Styling with CSSMike, your recent entries are terrific! I'm loving your CSSClass stuff. Alyce, could you edit your original post to give a link to the new page? Thanks.

Glad you like it Janet, hope everyone else does too and hope it boosts the popularity of RB. Those just starting with RB now have a good headstart on what we had during beta testing! There are still things I have yet to understand though.
All I 'need' now is port IO (hint hint).
Mike.
