Nice to see you here, E.K.!
This is a copy of the announcement made by Carl on the Liberty BASIC forum. It will answer some of your questions, and I'm sure Carl and others will answer the remainder of your questions.

Hi, $59.95 We don't have a release date for the Linux and OS X versions but it shouldn't take more than a couple of months to pull this together. These ports will work more or less identically to the Windows version. This is a personal license, so you can use it on more than one machine, but if you need another copy for someone else to use you should purchase another license. You can get a feel for what it is like by playing with the site at www.runbasic.com but we don't have a trial version. This is on the horizon, but we have not arrived at a trial scheme that we are comfortable with yet. We may even have a free version with some restrictions similar to the way we produce Just BASIC, which is a stripped down version of Liberty BASIC. We'll see. -Carl

Thank you Carl for your answers. I have one more. If i buy RB now when its for windows only and use it with wine in my linux, when RB for linux comes out, can i change to it or do i need to buy seperate license for it?
What paying methods are supported?

Thank you Carl for your answers. I have one more. If i buy RB now when its for windows only and use it with wine in my linux, when RB for linux comes out, can i change to it or do i need to buy seperate license for it? Our thinking about this is that purchasing additional OS licenses will be $20 each. So, if you purchase one for Windows and Linux that's $59.95 + $20 = $79.95 We will support online order methods including credit cards and Paypal. You will also be able to pay by mail if you prefer. -Carl

Hi All, Ekvirtanen - If you want to run RBS on Linux then you could use WINE or Crossover Office, I am currently running RBS in Crossover office without any issues, if you need any assistance getting it running in Crossover Office I will be happy to help there is also a howto for WINE on this forum if I remember correctly(?). Taddy.

Hi Taddy.
I have checked that tutorial how to get RB work through wine but i do not like to use wine unless it is absolutely necessary. I ratherly use native linux software, search alternative for linux or i do not use at all.
If i could change license from windows RB to linux RB when its released, then i might buy and use it with wine until then.

You know, it has occurred to me to make that available, but it isn't part of the current release. In fact it might be smart to make a system like that freely distributable. -Carl

I have a commitment from a Linux-based ISP to support Run BASIC when it becomes available on Linux.

Yeah, that would help things here. I thought to set up a home server here to test RB there but my connection is slow and i think its better to be with out a site than with a bad site.
