Is there a way to creating a project hierarchy?
I though about modifying the prefs.xml <projectsRoot> tag, but would like something more dynamic.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gary

No, all projects are stored in the same root folder, since this is easier for publishing them through the server.

Gary, I use cascading RUN commands. RUN commands let you run other programs within the same project.
Normally my hierarchy is controlled by the user security file. Once the user signs in, they are presented with a menu of items that only they can run. It knows if they can "look only" or "Maintain" the menu item.
Selection from their menu brings up the program. That program may have other programs it can RUN. And it cascades from there.
However a BOM file would work just as well. There should be no problem using a BOM (Bill of Material) file hierarchy.
The biggest problem is the UPLOAD command. It can only run at the root level. This has been the major bug in RB holding back the RUN command and hierarchy structures.
To control the hierarchy, I use a hidden button in the above (RUNNING) BOM program hierarchy. You can then issue a <SCRIPT> to click the button in the previous program to cause it to close the cascaded next level down BOM.
I've had no problem doing this, and some of my Run Basic projects contain over 800 programs.
Hope this helps. Dan
