There are new subscription packages for the Run BASIC Hosting Service! The goal is to offer subscribers an upgrade path from the existing entry level package. The original (and only) subscription package has been renamed “Shared Hobbyist 1”. Two new packages have been added -- “Shared Hobbyist 2” and “Dedicated Business 1”. All packages have both monthly and annual payment options. For the "Dedicated Business" package, a new VPS will be commissioned for each subscriber. You basically get your own server. See the Pricing page for more info at runbasichosting.com/html/pricing.html. You may need to REFRESH the page. My next goal is local SMTP support for sending email using RB's built-in facilities.

I really need that Smtp to send out mail rather than manually doing it is a long laborious task.
Please enclude how to attach a file in the info.... Thanks!!!!
PS: How soon do you think this will become avaiable? Otherwise I need to consider another email sender... Anyone got any suggestions regarding a good email sender?
I would like a program to read incoming emails and give a response too...

Hi David, As times are tight and I've been doing a test website for a friend and her riding stables, do you offer a cheaper package which could offer the following, http (port 80) access to rb server for running a website (ie .co.uk domain which points to the external IP of the rb server) 512meg ram / 1gb ram with 1gb of disk space, as the website would have quite afew photos. also clean URL (ie no seaside bits) would be nice The idea is that the rb app has a nice front end, which looks like a normal website, but also have a admin backend (which I have already created), which would allow her (ie non IT people) to update text and photos on the website without them having to do any coding at all. I will go and check your site now, but from memory the business package was at least $700 a year. I think she might be happy to pay £10 a month (such as 1&1 www.1and1.co.uk business websites) but I'd rather she uses RB hosting so I can develop it for her. many thanks James (feel free to email me direct)

James, Sorry, but I can't offer a cheaper business package at this time. Even if I did discount the current price, it would not even get close to your friend's budget. The 1&1 business website you referred to is for website and email. You can't use it to run an RB server. For that, you would need (at the very least) a VPS. The one that fits your requirements at 1&1 is about $30/month (about 20 pounds). That's still twice your friend's budget. If she can afford that, I recommend you setting that up for her with an RB server. I'm sure that there are cheaper plans out there as well that may close the gap on the budget. As far as the URL is concerned, there is no way to eliminate the seaside part of it. That's the way RB is designed. You can hide it from the general user, though, by calling the RB app inside of an iframe of the web page. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Regards, David den Haring.
