Good evening, This seems a good place to publish my question. Feel free to move it where it fits better. I am a LB 4.03 + Assist + LBWS customer. They are all excellent tools but they might not be best suited for what I want to do. Is it possible with RB to create an application that will run in my company's server for use on the INTRANET by all employees and while on the road, access the same application when connected to the server via Internet (VPS)? What should be a potential problem for this? What about security? It will be basically a database resident in the server that will be accessed by different employees working inside (Intranet) and some sales/field force working outside. I will appreciate any input. Luis.

RB is great for that type of application. I do this exact same thing. RB serves up a database application which contains sensitive customer information. It is mainly used on our intranet, but can be accessed by our remote personnel over the internet via our VPN.
All security is handled by our VPN which is a Cisco unit in this case. Be sure you have someone knowledgeable configure you VPN for maximum security. If your concerned about the security of your VPN then that has nothing to do with RB.
Best regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike. I was almost sure after reading all the material about RB but wanted some expert input regarding this issue. Yes...VPN is managed by our corporate office and as far as I know is very safe. Well..at this point it only remains to start working on the application. Thank you again for your time and consideration. Luis.
