After installing IE8, my server stopped working. A few months later it's now working again with different router settings. In going thru some of my programs (which haven't been able to do online for some time) I'm noticing something different that I didn't see before. Some of the programs (that include the displaying of tables with graphics in them) are displaying a repeat empty table under the regular table. The programming hasn't been changed at all. Maybe it has something to do with browser settings? Any ideas?

The extra table only appears in IE8. The program appears correctly with IE7. Also, it appears correctly in IE8 when select the "Compatibility View" feature ("for webpages designed for older browers"). So, I assume there's something I could change in the HTML to make the program IE8 compatible. Not sure what that would be.
BTW, I looked at how my program appears in Firefox. Completely wrong. Several missing items.

Without the code to duplicate the problem, it is hard to help.

cls html "<body BGCOLOR='#000000'>" html "<center>" html "<table border='2' cellpadding='2' width='364' height='209' bgcolor='#000000' background='http://home.comcast.net/~klemport/mobile/bloodyweather.gif'><tr><td valign='middle'>" end The table appears twice in IE8 (unless I select the "Compatibility View" feature "for webpages designed for older browers"). It appears once in IE7.

try using css instead.
cssclass "table", "{margin:auto; width:364px; height:209px; background:#000000 url('');}"
margin:auto equals <center> which you did not include an end tag for. As well as an end tag for "body".
<center></center> <body></body> <table></table>
Actually though, I've never worried about either since this is an application, not a true web page. The html command is nothing more than a convenience tool. But some rules still apply. If it needs a closing tag, include it.

Hmmmmm I ran your code in Chrome, FireFox and IE They all look identical and look correct to me..

Thanks, rich357. Adding the table closing tag worked! Now I can get busy adjusting the full versions of my programs.
kokenge: Interesting. Assuming you tried IE8, perhaps my browser settings are different. Still it's good to have max compatibility ... in case someone sees it like I do.
Thanks.
