Hello all.
'Warning. This video streaming package is over a 100 mb to download.
To download the package goto
www.smbisoft.com/fun-projects-don-t-look/file
and download "Streaming server.zip"
I have an example of how to stream video files to any browser that supports flash and javascript including android phones and regular pcs.
I have packed up these files with the intent of helping run basic users a better way to stream video to there run basic aplications.
To install:
Copy the contents of this zip folder to the root of your hard drive.
Ie copy the "rb101" directotory to c:\ and overwiright the folders for your run basic install (This will add a new project to your rb projects directory).
copy "xampp" to c:\
To start the streaming server click "start" -> "run" and type "c:\xampp\apache_start.bat"
The streaming server works on port 85. You must forward port 85 and make your fire wall axceptcomunications on this port for the streaming server to function.
That will start the apache server and make the transcodeing media player and streamer available.
This will install the server and the rb project that can be use to display video files in your web pages produced by run basic.
To insert a video in to your run basic project insert the following function into your project:
To display a video now just call the functin with the media file path on the server.
an example would be:
and thats it.
Have fun.
In this package I include files from free projects and I wish to note that now.
A great deal of the hard stuff was already done.
The projects to be noted are:
www.apachefriends.org
For the apache server package and othere utilitys.
and
www.psykokwak.com/blog/index.php/2008/03/28/49-faire-un-serveur-de-vod-la-maison
For the php ffmpeg streaming server project.
I adapted the flvprovider.php to stream any file on the hard drive with some easy html to embed it in to a web page and a function to embed it into rb apps.
